CVG has been at the forefront of providing solutions on Power System Engineering with Eskom Distribution as its largest client. The Company specializes in Power System type applications having successfully completed numerous substation and transmission line projects for voltages up to 132kV. The company is also involved in modeling and optimisation of power systems and master planning. CVG is involved in a range of projects covering a diverse area of electrical power systems. The company has undertaken numerous turnkey project as the Principal Agent, project managing the erection and refurbishment of major substations and transmission lines up to 132-kV. CVG has undetaken all aspects of such projects, including electromechanical, control plant, civil, structural and environmental. The latter three aspects are achieved through our long standing partnerships with specialist sub-consultants in these fields.

CVG currently has the latest design software and expert operators and designers at its disposal  This enables us to produce designs faster and more accurately, translating into better value to our clients.  

This capability covers all of our fields of expertise from High Voltage networks and substations to lighting. Here follows  a brief summary of packages at our disposal:

Digsilent Power Factory, ERACS and Retic master

  • Computer modeling of power systems, using Digsilent Power Factory, ERACS or Retic Master software

Win IGS Earthing and Lightning protection

  • The program WinIGS performs analysis and design of a grounding system or multiple grounding systems that are an integral part of an electric power system. Specifically, it allows the user to model any power system together with its grounding structures, it analyzes the performance of the system under steady state, normal, and fault conditions, and evaluates its performance against industry-standard criteria

RELUX lighting simulation and design
